SAP announces plans to buy Ariba
SAP’s plans to buy Ariba put it squarely in the cloud – and put the pressure on Oracle to deliver on its cloud and Fusion announcements in coming weeks. Although both Oracle and IBM had partnerships with Ariba, IBM’s acquisition of Emptoris in late 2011 leaves it less vulnerable in the supply chain and e-commerce space.
