Great expectations for inventory optimization

Although many companies have adopted Inventory Optimization (IO) software over the past decade, Nucleus has found in talking to users that there’s still a high degree of frustration with these applications. As more businesses have turned to these tools to maintain service levels while minimizing inventory holdings to curb working capital, IO solutions often don’t measure up to expectations. Moving forward, increasing volumes of data and pressure on supply chain operations will make decision makers’ due diligence more than just demos and request for proposals (RFPs). The most successful IO vendors will provide vertical blueprints, reference models, and customer references that are not just testimonials but actual peers that can share best practices and tactical knowledge to maximize returns.
