The myths of cloud content migration
In a recent survey of organizations ranging in size from 50 to 10,000 employees, Nucleus found that 20 percent have no plans to move their content management system onto a cloud infrastructure. Widespread reasoning against cloud content migration, including complex security regulations, the complete control of an on-premises system, and general fear of the unknown, have become nothing more than excuses for avoiding a transition to the cloud. This is especially true as content management cloud deployments have proven to deliver cost savings, access to frequent upgrades and newer features, and stringent security. While vendors still support longtime, self-hosted customers, the release of solutions to ease the transition to the cloud signifies the imminent obsolescence of legacy on-premises deployments.
