Drive manufacturing excellence with Plex, by Rockwell Automation

Nucleus interviewed several discrete manufacturing organizations that struggled with disconnected systems across planning, production, and execution workflows. This leads to inefficiencies and operational bottlenecks before deploying a manufacturing-specific Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. When deploying Plex, however, manufacturers can see production progress, track inventory levels, and monitor equipment status in one place. This helps align schedules with available materials, catch problems early to prevent delays and maintain machines without disrupting operations. By linking business planning with shop floor activity, manufacturers can avoid wasted time, reduce excess inventory, and keep production running smoothly. Organizations integrating these systems with Plex typically experienced improved operational connectivity, reduced manufacturing downtime, and increased production profitability. Nucleus found that organizations leveraging a unified manufacturing execution and ERP ecosystem saw a 10 to 25 percent decrease in inventory levels and a 10 to 30 percent reduction in unplanned downtime.
