WorkForce Software Delivers 430% ROI for University with EmpCenter

Improves employee productivity and reduces payroll head count with quick payback on investment

BOSTON – December 4, 2008 – Nucleus Research analysts examined the deployment of WorkForce Software’s EmpCenter at a major university in the Midwest and found a 430% return on investment (ROI) with payback in just three months.

One of the oldest public institutions of higher learning in the Midwest, the university has 17,671 undergraduate students and 869 full-time professors. In its ongoing effort to ensure cost competitiveness, the highly acclaimed institution explored ways to automate time and attendance workflows, which used a paper-based system to track the hours of 6,200 students who worked on a part-time basis, 750 non-student employees who were paid on an hourly basis and 750 employees under collective bargaining agreements. The process was time consuming and error prone, managing more than 7,000 time sheets every two weeks.

After reviewing several software solutions, the University selected EmpCenter from WorkForce Software based on cost advantages and its ability to track in a single pay period the numerous job assignments of the many employees working in multiple departments. As a result, the university has improved overall employee productivity, simplified the timesheet and payroll process all while reducing overall payroll headcount. Further, it has reduced payroll errors and moved away from a paper-based system.
