2021 Outlook Assessment: Box

Box has maintained momentum in the content management space throughout 2020, with a large enterprise-sized customer base and increased integrations with vendors such as Microsoft, Google, and Slack. Additional growth can be attributed to expanded sale of add-on products, Box Shield and Box Relay. Nucleus found that vendor’s ease of implementation and use are key drivers in a customer’s decision to deploy the solution. One organization reported it saved $730,000 with elimination of the legacy server and reduction of subscription costs and another user reduced printing costs by 67 percent upon implementation of Box. As organizations continue to face uncertainty, Nucleus expects that Box will continue to strengthen its market position, as its reputation for stringent security, vast integrations, and strong brand recognition will attract organizations looking to provide employees with a modern, full-suite experience for content management.
