Analytics Technology Value Matrix 2019
Analytics aren’t optional, regardless of company size. Collecting, storing, and analyzing data to make informed business decisions are mission-critical functions for any organization looking to find a leg up in a competitive market. As connectivity and computing power have increased, the capacity to store more data and stream information in real time has created a legitimate opportunity for companies to differentiate themselves from competitors and shift from a reactive to proactive operational strategy. Data used to be arcane and intimidating for people outside of the data science wing—now self-service analytics tools are the norm, and conversational, natural language interfaces allow untrained users to interact naturally with data. Vendors should look to understand the “citizen data scientist” and deliver tools that are accurate and performant, yet also transparent and easy-to-use.
