Nucleus Research analysts interviewed an apparel and fashion organization that relied on spreadsheets and email chains to manage purchase orders, freight updates, and supplier payments across a global network. The organization struggled to track in-transit goods, coordinate receiving, and keep up with rising transaction volumes without real-time visibility and actionability. The organization implemented the Infor Nexus Control Center to help automatically connect purchase order (PO), shipment, and invoice data on one interface. This allowed the organization to reduce receiving times at distribution centers by 50 percent. Manual freight tracking, once a full-time task requiring daily visits to multiple carrier websites, was eliminated through direct integration with freight forwarders. On the finance side, invoices matching previously required three full-time employees, which have now been reduced to one person. These changes enabled the organization to scale from $1B to $4.5B in revenue without increasing the accounts payable headcount and to improve coordination across procurement, logistics, and finance group functions.
