For supply chain software ease of use is key to winning over small business

Small companies face a different set of challenges in supply chain software deployments than big companies. A study by Nucleus Research of supply chain and logistics executives found that systems integration was the biggest challenge for software implementation at large companies. Two hundred and fifteen supply chain managers and logistics executives took part in the research.

Systems integration isn’t the top concern for companies under $100 million in annual revenue, however. The biggest obstacle in a supply chain software deployment for them was employee acceptance. Employees at small companies are often overwhelmed with multiple tasks and taking on a new software application constitutes another workload burden. To address this issue, supply chain software vendors are going to have to make their tools friendlier and provide more in the way of training and support to win over small business.
