Mayo Clinic develops analytical algorithms to detect suspicious tumor growth in MRI and CT scans. The clinic worked with IBM to develop intelligent workflows that automatically apply the right algorithms to images in the clinic’s archive so the images are enhanced before radiologists examine them – making them easier to analyze. Nucleus analysts found the solution enabled Mayo Clinic to increase the productivity of radiologists, accelerate the detection of cancer, and, in some cases, reduce the dosage of radiation patients need to receive during diagnosis.
