LLamasoft buys Barloworld SCS

On November 3 2015, LLamasoft Inc. announced that it had acquired Barloworld’s Supply Chain Software Division (SCS), which has two key products, CAST and Optimiza. The pickup of CAST removes from the market a major competitor to LLamasoft’s Supply Chain Guru, securing LLamasoft’s domination in the category for supply chain design software. Also, the pickup of Optimiza gives LLamasoft entry into the market for supply chain planning software, signaling the vendor’s intention to extend its software footprint beyond its original market of tools for network optimization.
