Salesforce.com and HP announce SuperPod
At Dreamforce 2013, Salesforce.com and Hewlett-Packard announced the SuperPod, an option for large Salesforce.com customers to have a dedicated instance of Salesforce.com in a separate hardware configuration. Salesforce says this is not a departure from multitenancy but an option for customers that want their own dedicated, separate hardware. In reality, this provides Salesforce with an answer to the data segregation and privacy concerns of some customers. It’s also a Salesforce endorsement of HP technologies, and a step away from Salesforce’s June announcement of a closer partnership with Oracle.
