Sisense acquires Periscope Data

Sisense announced the acquisition of Periscope Data, a San Francisco-based analytics startup that delivers a SQL-based interface for exploring and interacting with data. Periscope’s people, product, and operations will be merged into the Sisense ecosystem; the acquisition will allow both companies to grow faster than either could have independently. Sisense will look to incorporate Periscope’s advanced data science capabilities such as integrations with SQL, Python, and R into an advanced, end-to-end analytics platform that will help organizations effectively leverage their data to drive operations. Nucleus estimates that by acquiring the Periscope technology, Sisense will be able to deliver the same data science enablement one to three years faster than it would independently.
